There are four classes of macromolecules are carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and nucleic acids. Carbohydrates provide a quick burst of energy to the consumer. Carbohydrates also aid in the digestion of foods and the excretion of solid waste. Proteins are considered to be the most important macromolecule in living organisms. Proteins provide us structure, movement, protection, hormones, and enzymes. Lipids provide the most amount of energy through digested foods. Nucleic Acids.
